September 26, 2020
Dear PreK Families,
Arrival and dismissal has been going well and we are so grateful to you for following the protocols to ensure the safety of our precious young learners and a smooth transition to our opening.
The teachers and I are constantly working to ensure best practice so we are instituting a few changes effective next week. Starting Monday, September 28th drop off will be between 8:50 and 9:05. Parents are asked to have the white name plate on the dashboard of the car so that all assistants can address your child by name as they escort your child to the appropriate class. If you arrive after 9:05, please bring your child to the office and Mrs. Booth will bring your child to class.
For dismissal, the time remains the same, 2:15-2:30. Please continue to pull in the Bond Avenue entrance and park within either of the two yellow lanes. Bringing the white name plate, get out of the car, walk up to the yellow line that runs parallel to our gym, where your child’s teacher or one of our instructional assistants will hand your child to you. You must continue to bring the white name card everyday to pick up your child to ensure your child’s safety. Contact your child’s teacher if you need a replacement. If you come to school without the card, please go to the front door of the school with your ID to pick up your child.
We are most grateful for you entrusting your little ones to our care. We are committed to providing a safe, fun, learning environment for them.
Sincerely,
Joanne Montie, Principal
Doris Hurd, PreK 4
Kaky Mullen, PreK 4
Pre-K 3 and 4 Arrival Plan: 8:50 a.m. to 9:05 a.m.
Please pull your car from the Harper Avenue school parking lot entrance to the first lane along the side of the school. Please assist your own child out of the car (both child and parent wear masks). School staff members will be in the lot area to walk your child to his or her classroom. If your child arrives after 9:05 a.m., please walk your child through the main doors of the school and check in at the office. Thank you!
Pre-K 3 and 4 Dismissal Plan
Half-Day Dismissal: 11:30 a.m. at main doors of the school
Full-Day Dismissal: 2:15-2:30 p.m. at the Harper Ave. doors
Full-Day children begin dismissal at 2:15 p.m. from the Harper Avenue doors. Drivers pull into the school lot off of Bond Ave. and park in the first two lanes closest to the school side. Parents and caregivers must have the school-issued name card and walk up to the yellow line to meet your child. No child is to run to a parent or caregiver outside of the yellow line. If you do not have your name card with you, please check in at the office where you will meet up with your child to dismiss.
If your preschool child has an older sibling in our school that dismisses at 2:45 p.m., the preschool child may wait in our classrooms with the teacher until the elementary school dismissal. Please inform your child's teacher which line he or she will meet the older sibling: Walker Line or Car Rider Line.
Thank you for following our best practice guidelines for a safe and efficient arrival dismissal!
FYI: In the event of a 2-hour delay due to poor weather conditions, the children would arrive at 10:15 a.m. (no earlier due to the arrival of the elementary children at 10:00 a.m.).
The pre-K 4 half-day children would dismiss at 12:00 p.m. The full-day children would dismiss at the regular 2:15 p.m. dismissal time.
