My name is Lisa Carney and I am so happy to be teaching 4th grade at St. Bernadette's. It is my eleventh year teaching Fourth Grade, but my twelfth year at St. Bernadette's. I have a master's degree in education from Chestnut Hill College and began my teaching career at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in South Philadelphia where I taught third grade. I have also taught first grade, and I have been a reading interventionist and a substitute teacher in grades K to 5.
I was a stay-at-home mom for a number of years raising my 5 daughters. My oldest is a nurse, married with two children. My granddaughter will be six this October and will be in our wonderful Bernie's kindergarten and my grandson will be three. My second daughter is married and has a daughter that will be two in the spring. My third daughter is an ICU nurse at CHOP. My fourth daughter is engaged and will marry next year.. My fifth daughter is job hunting since graduating.
I am so blessed to be teaching at St. Bernadette's and I am looking forward to a year full of learning and fun!
