My name is Lisa Carney and I am so happy to be teaching 4th grade at St. Bernadette's. It is my twelfth year teaching fourth grade, but my thirteenth year at St. Bernadette's. I have over 26 years of teaching experience. I have a master's degree in education from Chestnut Hill College and began my teaching career at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in South Philadelphia where I taught third grade. I have also taught first grade, and I have been a reading interventionist and a substitute teacher in grades K to 5.
I was a stay-at-home mom for a number of years raising my 5 daughters. My oldest is a nurse, married with two children. My granddaughter will be seven this October and will be in our wonderful Bernie's first grade, and my grandson will be four. He is starting preschool here this year. My second daughter is married and has a daughter that will be three in the spring. My third daughter is an ICU nurse at CHOP. My fourth daughter is engaged and will be getting married this October. My fifth daughter is working and recently moved out on her own.
I am so blessed to be teaching at St. Bernadette's and I am looking forward to a year full of learning and fun!
