We also enjoyed Color Dash and Fruit Basket! Our youngest learners ( PreK4 and KDG) got to experiment with Noodles and also were treated to the games of Red Light, Green Light and one of my all time favs- DUCKS FLY! Goodbye September!!!
Week of September 21
For the last two weeks, the students ( grades 5-8) were practicing their underhand striking skills in the games of Cornhole (Baggo), Floorball, Tableball and Four Square.
The middle grades ( 3rd & 4th grades) worked on underhand throwing skills employing the games of Flip the hoop and Team Cornhole. Grades 2 & 3 refined their listening skills in the games of Fruit Basket and 4 Corner- Rock, Paper, Scissors. Preschool and Kindergarten classes have been using scarves to practice visual tracking skills while learning various scarf tricks! We also played the game, Don't Wake the Snake!!
The highlight of this week was the introduction of the game- BOCCE to the upper grades.
Employing the use of the underhand roll, students practiced the game learning offensive and
defensive tactics.
The best planning will make things safer, so students know what to do and can continue to find PE as the fun and educational class it was before pandemic.
Limiting equipment usage as much as possible, and when it is used, using disinfectant to keep germs at bay.
PE teaches the important values of teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving. Using this pandemic to teach resiliency is so important as we show our students how to overcome adversity and the hurdles in life with optimism and enthusiasm.
