Dear SBS Parents,
Happy Spring!!!! What a year it has been since last March! Think of how far we have grown in creativity, patience and hope. Hope in God carrying us through the storms of life as we rededicate our lives, our families, our children and our school community to His gentle, merciful care. The teachers and I are ever vigilant on the toll the pandemic has taken on our students. We work daily to “normalize” their days with learning, routines, expectations and socialization. Please reach out to us if you have any concerns.

The students are really enjoying the STREAM lessons this year and we look forward to a new dedicated space for STREAM programs in the coming future! Thank you to everyone who has already participated. There is still time to enter our raffle for the chance to win NUT passes every week during the month of April and an Amazon gift card for selling 4 or more tickets per family before the end of this month! If you need more tickets please email Development@stbl.org and help us make our student STREAM Lab happen!

Home and School Special Lunch
On Tuesday, April 6th the Home and School will be providing a free pizza lunch for all students. This lunch has been rescheduled from Catholic Schools Week when inclement weather canceled the luncheon. Special thanks to our Home and School Association for all of their efforts for our students.
First Communion
Ms. MaryKate Murphy has scheduled two practices for our students in 2nd grade as they prepare for their First Holy Communion. The first is Sunday, April 18th after the 11:00 am Mass and the second on Monday evening, April 26th from 6:30 until 7:45 pm. These practices are important as they help the children grow in reverence for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Practices also make them feel more confident and secure in knowing what to expect and what is expected of them. I thank Ms. MaryKate Murphy and Mrs. Lauren Gilligan for all they do to assist you in bringing the children closer to Jesus in this Sacrament.
CARES
Cares registration is now taking place. The Cares registration form can be found on the school website. Bernie’s Dine Out at Franco and Giuseppe’s
Please join your friends and neighbors for a relaxing dinner at Franco and Giuseppe’s on Tuesday, March 30th for a Home and School fundraising dinner. The fixed price meals are family friendly and delicious! Please see the attached flyer for more information.
COVID-19
Thank you to all of the parents who have responded with their travel plans. As you know, although both the CDC and the Chester County Health Department have relaxed their travel restrictions and quarantines, St. Bernadette School will still require a negative test or a 7 day quarantine with any out of state travel. Upon consultation with Chester County, they have advised the Catholic school principals to relax the quarantine only to the extent we are comfortable. In consulting with the COVID-19 team at St. Bernadette School, we believe it is in the best interest of our school community to roll back the quarantine period slowly and deliberately to keep our precious students and staff safe. If you plan on traveling over the Easter holiday, please contact me as your child(ren) will need to be virtual upon return. Working together, caring for one another and through God’s grace we have come this far and I know we can make it.
Easter Holidays
Wednesday, March 31st dismissal is at 11:55am. The school is closed on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday. Students return to school on Tuesday, April 6th.
Have a great week. Let us continue to pray for one another. I pray that through the intercession of St. Joseph we each grow closer to the hearts of Jesus and Mary.
Peace,
Joanne Montie
